Guidelines for Submissions

  • Length: Essays typically range between 800 to 1,200 words.

  • Originality: Submissions must be original and exclusive to Economic UK (not previously published elsewhere).

  • Clarity and Tone: We appreciate clear, engaging writing that is accessible to an informed general audience.

  • Evidence: Opinions should be supported by facts, data, or real-world examples. Please provide links or citations where appropriate

  • A brief summary of your argument (1–2 sentences).

  • Your full name, contact information, and a short bio (2–3 sentences).

  • Any relevant credentials or disclosures, especially if you have financial or political affiliations that pertain to your piece.

We aim to respond to submissions within two weeks. If you have not heard from us by then, you are free to submit your essay elsewhere.

What Happens Next?

If your essay is accepted, we may suggest edits for clarity, accuracy, and style. You will have an opportunity to review these edits before publication. Final headlines and subheadings will be determined by our editorial team.

Please note that due to the volume of submissions, we are unable to provide individual feedback on essays we choose not to publish.
